Time is a unique concept designed and created by God. It is for here on Earth, perhaps nowhere else. It is friend and enemy, on your side or against you; found, lost, missed, or saved. Time turns into memories, both good and bad.
We try to hold onto it, like saving it in a bottle or stunting a child's growth at precious moments. Time marches on, no matter what. It never sits still whether we would like it to slow down, hurry up, or stop.* Time catches up to you as you age. It exhibits itself in your skin, hair, mobility, and mind. The science of it is complicated with the heavenly bodies, tides, seasons, and Earth's rotations. Scientists don't even agree on everything about it.
The government tries to harness it into zones and changes it depending on the season. Traveling in and out of its numbers on trips can be confusing, yet less than when leaving this planet for outer space. The time travel phenomenon is exciting and entertaining. However, our imagination seeks diversions to things we cannot fully understand or control.
A whole industry has grown up around "telling" it, making about 57 billion dollars a year. Order out of chaos is greatly needed for our stability and sanity. Again, we either wish to freeze it during beautiful moments or speed it up during difficult, agonizing, mournful moments. We mere mortals have repeatedly been told to treasure it, be aware of its fleetingness, make the best use of it, and simply live in each moment.
Time is God's gift to us. Use it to His glory each day - responsibility, recreation, and relaxing rest all belong to His invention of time.
